María José graduated summa cum laude from the Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA), holds a specialization in Negotiation Strategies: Optimization of Results through Collaboration and Conflict Resolution from NYU, Stern School of Business, and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Estate Planning and International Taxation at the Universidad CEMA in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Since joining the team at Indacochea & Asociados (IA), María José has played a fundamental role in the growth and success of the practice in these key areas of law. Her academic background, client-focused legal advice, and international recognition are some of the qualities that María José has fulfilled throughout the years.
In the corporate department, she plays a leading role in planning and executing corporate restructurings, carrying out merger and acquisition projects, asset restructurings, and the formation of entities abroad for important national and international clients of IA.
María Jose heads the Intellectual Property department. Her work in this area has been particularly impressive. In less than two years, she has managed to lay foundations of the department, consolidating it as a key business unit for companies in various sectors to protect and explore their intangible assets thanks to legal advice with a creative, agile, and business-oriented approach.
“María José´s promotion to Partner is a well-deserved recognition of her skills and accomplishments acquired over the years at IA. We are confident that her leadership and experience will continue to be a great asset to our firm and our clients,” says Mariana Pereira, Director of IA.
When talking about the promotion, Partner Andere Indacochea commented, “We are thrilled to have María José now as a Partner. We witnessed her professional growth and leadership year after year in the Firm, and we are excited to see her take on this new role, taking her practice to the next level.”
María José was also excited about her promotion and what the future holds. “Indacochea & Asociados is more than just one of the leading firms in the legal industry; it has become a business hub where the most interesting transactions in the market occur. It is an honor to belong to this team, and it is an enormous pleasure to serve our clients. I had the privilege of starting my career by being mentored by the founder of the firm, Ricardo Indacochea. Since then, I knew that in IA, I would find an exciting and long path full of learning, challenges, and gratitude.”
Our team congratulates María José on her new role and will continue to provide the best legal service to our clients in Bolivia and abroad.
No doubt that her promotion is a reflection of IA’s commitment to the talent and professional development of its professionals.
